Capturing the moment and being gripped by the moment - in the “Monochrome” photographs this old (but always relevant) topic of art is
brought to life in two ways.
On the one hand, there's the aesthetic of the instant - a woman's glance, the shape of a lily. On the other hand, there's Werner Pawlok's
technique. The charming monochrome effect is created by interrupting the development process of the 20x24 Polaroid - and thus it depends
on chance. The photo cannot be planned to perfection, it is not foreseeable, it is itself the result of an instant

Die "Monochrome" Fotografien
Der Augenblick und das Ergriffensein vom Augenblick - bei den Monochrome Fotografien kommt dieses uralte und doch immer aktuelle Thema
der Kunst auf zweierlei Weise zu seinem Recht.
Einerseits in der Ästhetik des Augenblicks, dem Blick einer Frau, der Form einer Lilie. Andererseits in der Technik, die Werner Pawlok hier
anwendet. Das Foto ist nicht zu 100% planbar, vorausschaubar, ist selbst das Ergebnis des Augenblicks. Denn die reizvolle, monochromatische
Farbgebung verdanken die 20x24'' Polaroids einem unterbrochenen Entwicklungsprozess und damit auch ein kleines Stück weit dem Zufall.
Allesamt Unikate, dem fotografischen Gesetz der Vervielfältigung trotzend, dem Augenblick verpflichtet. Klassische Themenkreise der
Kunstgeschichte, Variationen des Akts und Blumen stehen im Mittelpunkt dieses Werkzyklus.
